Light slithers through the cracks,
Through my smoke and purple night sky and obliterating nothingness
Sun rays of pure and absolute delight
Hints of beauty
Accents of life
Tiny drops of something
*
My life and yours connected by a weak link that I’m unable to strengthen
Looking for life in the throws of the end
*
And I might be gone, far, far away
In my thoughts that still revolve around you
Hoping and wishing for something new
*
And I’ve gone missing, singing, sighing “Goodbye”
In the hopes that one day again I’ll feel high
On your presence
*
Gold bands align
With your hands clasped in mine
And my scent on your hair
And how immortal the time
Shines when I’m with you
Before the “Goodbye”
*
And I’d hoped that we could be together
Something to make the nights warmer
