Let him meet emotion

Let him face torment and destruction

And the looming mast of death

To find a home, let him tail and track hardened courage

See it guide him to a sunset bursting with sweltering heat and drug-induced colours

Watch him from afar as he greets the ocean

With ice in his eyes and veins

When the waves crash and wash over him

Inspect his skin for the trace and taste of the salt you can also feel burning beneath your own skin

Admit that no part of yourself is as free as the one watching him watching a bird staring at the moon

That no light shines brighter than the glimmer of honesty and truth

In the eyes and spewing from the mouth of the one you love
